Through multiple media (drawings, digital compositions, tattoos,
costumes…), Jérôme Pellerin-Moncler works on pattern and ornament and explores our
iconic heritage. From the sacred to superheroes, from folklore to fairy tales, a whole collective imagination is summoned and questioned through often joyful and sometimes disturbing creations.
Each work brings together separate worlds: princes charming and Christian martyrs mix cheerfully with sailors and cowboys. The compositions, strangely familiar, gradually reveal themselves to be sprinkled with unexpected, grating or ironic details. So many amused and queer reflections of a world saturated with images.
